Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some frequently asked questions about BDT Energy Group as well as LED technology and its benefits.
LED lamps usually work under -40 degree temperatures because they tend to last longer if they stay cool. It is important that the power supply is rated for low temperatures. Wet environments are not a problem if the lamp is IP65 rated.
Each product has a specific specification to be considered. Lumen depreciation is related to factors of LED chips, LED brand, heat management design, and power supply. Any prior factor can impact the lumen depreciation of LED bulbs. Take our G2 EPS LED tube as example, the depreciation is less than 4% in 10,000 hours; and no more than 30% in a lifetime.
Lumen maintenance or lumen depreciation is a very important term for lighting products. It reflects the useful life span of lighting products. 10% lumen depreciation 5000 hours means that the lamp may lose 10% light compared with the initial lumen.
How does this compare to florescent bulbs?Fluorescent bulbs claim 2000 to 20,000 hours of life span but they generally lose more than 30% light compared with the initial lumen.
How does this compare to the life span or failure of the bulb? Failure and life span are two different terms. Failure can be any problem which stops the lamp from working properly, for example, a burn out. Normally failure happens within the life span of a lamp. Life span or useful life span means the maximum time that one lamp will work. For conventional lighting, the standard is if a lamp loses 30% light, then the lamps useful life stops.
Our power supplies are UL listed. The EPS Tubes have a plastic housing. The power supply for the IPS Tubes, which is located inside the tube have a plastic cover.
The basic colors are Warm White, Natural White, Cool White. We can customize a color within a range such as 3500K+/-250K.

In addition to significantly reducing the amount of energy consumed, LED lights don’t contain mercury and other hazardous substances, unlike traditional bulbs. You save time and money by not having to safely dispose of these bulbs. You’ll also be doing a great service to the environment by making the switch.
Yes. Considerable incentives are available for businesses that take part in saving energy by changing their lighting to LED lighting solutions. We will assist with the rebate submission and all you need to do is sign it off. *You must take action quickly however, as annual rebate fund pools are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Replacing or upgrading light fixtures to newer models is completely optional. Most LED bulbs are a direct bulb for bulb replacement.
LED bulbs have a long lifetime and require less maintenance than conventional bulbs because they don’t have to be changed often. Thus, you could save hundreds of maintenance hours every year, significantly reducing your operational costs.
LED bulbs last around 50,000 hours which equates to more than 17 years of life at eight hours per day, seven days per week. Regular lights on the same schedule last about one year. Aren’t you tired of changing your regular bulbs every year? Make the switch!
LED bulbs use less energy so that means 50% to 90% savings on your lighting bill. Now you can have new lighting that saves you money. LED bulbs reduce your monthly energy bill. No upfront cost and small monthly payments for new LED lighting equipment.
Yes! You can read the testimonials and science coverage that proves this. Electric bills are reduced in two different ways: 1) Less electricity is needed to produce the same amount of light as conventional bulbs. 2) The light from LED bulbs produce less heat, so less power is wasted and less strain is put on air conditioning and ventilation systems. Savings on your lighting bill will average50 to 90% less than what you are paying now. Your investment will be returned in as little as one to two years. Everything saved after that goes directly into your cash flow.
Light emitting diode (LED) bulbs is a technology that uses significantly less electricity than regular fluorescent or incandescent bulbs. Simultaneously, LED bulbs produce the same or greater quantities of light, and reduce the energy wasted on generating inefficient, excess heat.
LED bulbs last five times longer than regular bulbs, are better for us as they more accurately mimic the natural light spectrum, and are great for the environment. This is why so many people in the world are making the switch to LED bulbs.
